Preferences
Measurement Abbreviations
If you prefer you may may select to have measurement units displayed in their abbreviated format, e.g. "tsp" instead of "teaspoon".
To enable or disable abbreviations, open "Preferences" under the 'Connoisseur' menu and click on the "General" toolbar item. Check the "Use abbreviations" checkbox to enable abbreviations, or uncheck it to turn them off.
The default abbreviations and units are available under the "Units" tab of the Preferences. To edit abbreviations, double click on the entry you wish to alter in the 'Abbreviation' column.
Customise Courses
Connoisseur allows you to define custom courses if none of the pre-defined ones match your needs. To do so, open "Preferences" under the 'Connoisseur' menu and click on the "Courses" toolbar item.
To add a new course, click on the (+) button in the lower left and enter a name for the new course.
Courses can be removed by clicking on the (-) button in the lower left. All recipes under that course name will be moved to the "N/A" course.
Courses can also be renamed by double-clicking on the entry in the main table. If you rename a course, all recipes under that course name will automatically be updated to the new course.

Connoisseur allows you to define custom cuisines if none of the pre-defined ones match your needs. To do so, open "Preferences" under the 'Connoisseur' menu and click on the "Cuisines" toolbar item.
To add a new cuisine, click on the (+) button in the lower left and enter a new name for the cuisine.
Cuisines can be removed by clicking on the (-) button in the lower left. All recipes under that cuisine name will be moved to the "Unfiled" cuisine.
Cuisines can also be renamed by double-clicking on the entry in the main table. If you rename a cuisine, all recipes under that cuisine name will automatically be updated to the new cuisine.
Customise Units
Connoisseur allows you to define custom units if none of the pre-defined ones match your needs. To do so, open "Preferences" under the 'Connoisseur' menu and click on the "Units" toolbar item.
To add a new unit, click on the (+) button in the lower left and enter a new name for the unit. You can also define an abbreviation for that particular unit. For more information on unit abbreviations, see the Abbreviations support entry.
Units can be removed by clicking on the (-) button in the lower left. If a unit is removed, but existing recipes still use that unit, it will be added back to the defaults when the recipe is next opened. This is to prevent the accidental deletion of a unit, which would alter the recipes.
Units can also be renamed by double-clicking on the entry in the main table. If you rename a unit, all recipes using that unit will automatically be updated to use the new unit name.
