Recipes: Adding
Manually
To add a recipe to Connoisseur by hand, select "New Recipe" from the 'File' menu and fill in the information as prompted. See Editing Recipes for more information.
Online Catalogue
The online catalogue is a group of recipes that are assembled on our website. You can browse and import recipes at no cost.
To access it, select "Online Catalogue" from the 'Source' table in the main window. A basic set of recipes is downloaded and
cached to your hard drive so you don't need to download it every time. To import a recipe, drag it from the main recipe window
into your 'Recipe Catalogue' or double click on it. You can only edit recipes once you have imported them into your own collection.
Recipes that have previously been imported are marked with a
green arrow.
Recipes that are new are marked with a
yellow star.
Text File
- Select the text you wish to import and copy it to clipboard
- Open Connoisseur and select "Import Recipes from Text" from the 'File' menu.
- Paste in your text and press the "Import" button.
Website
- Open your web browser to the recipe you wish to import.
- Select the text pertaining to the recipe (the less extraneous the text selected the more accurate it will be).
- Select "Services" from your browser menu then "Import Recipe into Connoisseur".
If this option is not available you will need to log in to your user account again as the "Services" menu needs to discover Connoisseur. The Connoisseur service can be used from any application, not just web browsers.
If what you are looking for is not (yet) in the online catalogue, then you can import recipes from a wide variety of websites. We have compiled a list of favourite recipe sites for your viewing pleasure. They can also be accessed by selecting "Recipe Sites" from the 'Help' menu.
